Cookie policy
What this site sets in your browser, and why
Cookies on this site
Template notice — for legal review.
This website sets cookies for two reasons and no others. The first is function: a small number of cookies are needed for the site to work at all, and they are set whether or not you interact with the banner. The second is measurement: analytics that show which pages are read, so that content can be fixed where it is not. Analytics cookies are placed only after you accept them.
The site sets no advertising cookies of its own, and it does not hand your browsing to an ad network. Where a page embeds something from outside — the registration platform that issues badges, or a video — that service may set its own cookies, and its policy rather than ours governs them. Registration for Megawatt Kenya happens on the platform, and the details you type there are covered by the privacy policy rather than this page.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time. Blocking the functional ones may break layout or forms; blocking the analytics ones costs you nothing and changes nothing about your visit. Write to the team if you want to know what a particular cookie on a page you visited was for.
The three kinds you may meet
Analytics
Counts page views and shows which pages are read and which are left immediately. Only set if you accept them in the banner, and never used to build a profile of you.
Third-party
Set by the registration platform or an embedded video when those load. They are that provider's cookies, and their own policy describes them.
